The COVID-19 Pandemic has transformed our way of life. There is little disagreement that some of these changes, like the way we live, work, and shop, are here to stay after this pandemic is over. These changes have already had direct impacts on where people choose to live and how they travel. While Transportation Impact Assessments (TIAs) have evolved over the years, they still generally follow a traditional pattern of vehicle trip generation, parking, and AM/PM peak periods. This presentation delves into the approaches to TIAs, and explains why and how the focus has to shift to include other areas more in-line with the new post-COVID reality.
