2021 Social Networking Series No. 2: A Workshop on “Essentials of Successful Networking in Any Mode”
Fri Jul 23 2021 01:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)
Please join the Iranian Engineers of BC Association (IEBCA) in an online workshop with Nancy Nesbitt and Michael Yue from Vancouver Community College. This virtual event (through Zoom Meeting) is in English and free of charge, and it is open to the public. EGBC members may claim 1.5 Continuing Education (CE) Hours for attending the event.
Networking can open opportunities and accelerate your success regardless of what your profession is. It provides an opportunity for learning from the knowledge and experiences of the individuals you meet as well as filling in your bucket of contacts that you can refer to when you need them. However, you may not be sure how to start, where to go, whom to meet, how to connect, and what to say (or not to say) you communicate with new people, or how to maintain the relationship. Answers to these questions may vary, of course, depending on your personal plans and the social and cultural contexts. In this webinar workshop, the participants will be introduced to culturally appropriate practices and competencies for professionals to expand their networks in Canada. You will enjoy a lively discussion and get to practice your networking skills. The activities include an interactive presentation and workshop engaging you in a comfortable conversation setting. At the end of the workshop, the attendees will be provided a time to receive answers to their questions from the presenters of the event in a Q/A session.
Side Notes:
1) The event will be in English, and EGBC members may claim 1.5 Continuing Education (CE) Hours for attending the event.
