Application of Spray Polyurethane Foam in Construction Industry
Sat Jan 18 2020 22:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)
The Iranian Engineers of BC Association (IEBCA) would like to invite you to join us in an informative presentation by Dr. Reza Korehei from Cellucycle Enterprise Inc. and a member of the Canadian Urethane Foam Contractor Association (CUFCA).
Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) is a spray-applied plastic material that is widely used to insulate buildings and seal cracks and gaps, making the building more energy-efficient and comfortable. SPF insulation is known to resist heat transfer extremely well, and it offers a highly effective solution in reducing unwanted air infiltration through cracks, seams, and joints. SPF is made by mixing and reacting unique liquid components to create foam. The liquids react very quickly when mixed, expanding on contact to create foam that insulates, seals gaps, and can form moisture and vapor barriers. Each spray foam type and method of application offers unique benefits.
This presentation includes a review of various types SPF insulation materials and their application in the construction industry. We will discuss the advantages of SPF insulation system and compare it with conventional fibreglass batt insulation systems. The impact of new BC building code, higher standard in building energy efficiency, better insulation systems for new houses and the safety factors to be considered during installation by licenced applicators and home owners will also be discussed. At the end, the key factors for starting and running a profitable and successful spray foam insulation business will be presented.
