BC Energy Step Code and Compliance Reports

Sat May 25 2019 17:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

BC Energy Step Code was introduced on April 7, 2017 as an amendment to the 2012 BC Building Code (BCBC) with goal of raising the bar in energy efficiency and saving in building construction through a step-based, motivational approach that leads to harmonization of local governments' bylaws as relates to energy efficiency in new buildings. Under the Building Act, December 15, 2017 was set as a deadline for BC local governments wishing to set higher energy-efficiency standards than the minimum requirements required by BCBC to do so using the BC Energy Step Code instead of their current bylaws. This presentation aims to: Build an understanding of: The BC Energy Step Code, The BC Energy Step Code Metrics, Provide clear instructions on how to address the BC Energy Step Code requirements; more specifically: How to work with local governments, How to work with an Energy Advisor, and How to prepare the BC Energy Compliance Reports.

Location:

Delbrook Community Recreation Center 851 W Queens Rd, North Vancouver, BC V7N 4E3
