Please join the Iranian Engineers of BC Association (IEBCA) in an informative webinar presentation by Zohreh Hashemi, P.Eng. and Eileen Miranda, PMP from SNC-Lavalin. This virtual event (through Zoom Meeting) is in English and free of charge, and it is open to the public. Members of Engineers and Geoscientists BC may claim 1 Continuing Education (CE) Hour for attending the event.
To ensure infrastructure projects are in compliance with environmental requirements, specific quality procedures are developed to support the evolving design and construction of the work that may undergo major changes throughout the Project. Topics that will be discussed in this presentation include:
• Environmental assessment and permit approvals as a basis for environmental requirements
• Environmental requirements of infrastructure projects
• Quality processes to ensure environmental compliance of design
• Quality processes to ensure environmental compliance during construction
• Potential consequences of Environmental noncompliance
A Q/A session at the end of the presentation will provide an opportunity for the audience to receive answers to their questions from the presenters.

Zohreh Hashemi, P.Eng. is a Professional Engineer with 8 years of experience in environmental compliance management of major infrastructure projects in BC including Sea to Sky Highway Project, Port Mann Highway1 Project, and Evergreen Line Project. She is currently an SNC-Lavalin employee working on BC Hydro Small Capital program where she is responsible for environmental management of the projects. Eileen Miranda, PMP is the Manager of Environmental Assessment and Biology in BC for SNC-Lavalin. Eileen Miranda has 15 years of progressive experience as an Environmental Lead on infrastructure projects requiring Environmental Assessment (EA) under Canadian and provincial legislation. Eileen directs multi-disciplinary teams in undertaking technical studies to support EA; manage environmental & regulatory risk; and facilitate regulatory review of projects. Eileen is a Registered Professional Biologist and a Project Management Professional.
