This presentation provides an introductory overview of electric and hybrid cars. It is for a general audience, interested in learning how electric and hybrid cars work, their differences, and advantages and disadvantages of these cars compared to traditional gasoline engine cars. The impact of electric cars on the environment will be discussed briefly. The future outlook for electric cars, their economic impact, and advancement in electric car technology will also be presented.

About the Speaker:
Ali Palizban is an IEEE Senior Member and has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. He is currently a Program Head in the Electrical Engineering Department of BCIT. He is also a professional engineer member of EGBC. His main field of research and teaching is power system and control engineering and has numerous publications in these areas. He has worked in electric power industry, consulting engineering firms, academic, and R&D institutions for several years and has some work experience in hybrid vehicle industry.This presentation provides an introductory overview of electric and hybrid cars.
