Please join the Iranian Engineers of BC Association (IEBCA) in an informative in-person presentation by Sina Salari from SISA Energy.

This session explores the development of an AI-driven data platform designed to help building consultants streamline energy-efficiency retrofit projects. The presentation will walk through how the platform evolved from concept to serving more than 10,000 buildings in under four years, highlighting both the technical and organizational challenges faced along the way.

Key themes include architectural decision-making, scaling strategies, and maintaining momentum in complex, multidisciplinary projects. The talk will also discuss insights gained from working with diverse stakeholders - from public institutions to private owners - and how such collaborations can accelerate progress toward building decarbonization.

The session will conclude with a look at a new self-serve data management tool for consultants, offering practical takeaways for engineers, data professionals, and project managers interested in scalable solutions for the built environment. Attendees can expect actionable lessons on data architecture, process design, and sustainable innovation in retrofit programs.

Sina Salari, Ph.D., P.Eng., CEM, MBA (I2I), is the founder and CEO of SISA Energy. He combines deep technical training with product and business leadership to scale building-energy intelligence and retrofit delivery. Under his direction, SISA has forged strategic partnerships with retrofit accelerators such as LandlordBC and was selected by British Columbia’s Innovative Clean Energy (ICE) Fund as one of the top promising startup to scale energy retrofits across buildings. The company has built a market database of 20,000 buildings and earned national recognition through the Federal Government’s Deep Retrofit Accelerator Initiative, which chose SISA’s data management platform for 10,000 buildings to support Canada’s first Retrofit Repository. Across these efforts, Sina focuses on measurable outcomes in complex, multi-stakeholder programs aligned with provincial and federal clean-energy priorities.
