Please join the Iranian Engineers of BC Association (IEBCA) in an informative in-person presentation by Mr. Bijan Pourkarimi, P.Eng. from Energitix Management & Consulting Corporation. This is an in-person event, and the presentation is in English. Registration is required for attending the event.
Buildings account for approximately 40% of energy related CO2 emissions. Global building stock is expected to double by 2060 due to urbanization, population growth, and related economic trends. This presentation focuses on opportunities to reduce Greenhous Gas (GHG) emissions in buildings with particular emphasis on GHG emission reduction through operational strategies. It also covers the Province’s GHG reduction strategies through CleanBC and CleanBC’s Better Buildings programs which provide funding and capital incentives to encourage energy efficient design in construction and renovation of commercial buildings.

About the Speaker:
Mr. Bijan Pourkarimi, P.Eng. is the founder and president of Energitix Management & Consulting, an energy management and sustainability company. He is a professional engineer with over 35 years of experience in energy management and decarbonization. He has worked with BC Hydro, FortisBC, City of Vancouver, and others on energy management programs. He is currently a Small Buildings Energy Coach for CleanBC’s Better Buildings program and serves as a director on the board of directors of a number of non-profit organizations. He was previously a part time instructor for the Building Energy and Resource Management program at Douglas College.
