This virtual event (through Zoom Meeting) is in English and free of charge, and it is open to the public. Members of Engineers and Geoscientists BC may claim 1 Continuing Education (CE) Hour for attending the event.

There is a misconception that Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used in every context. Even in a circumstance where it might seem appropriate at first glance, you unfortunately should not expect AI to be the solution. In other words, AI may not be applicable to every problem that your business faces. When using AI in industry, you must always take a cautious approach, since industry has many elements and variables that do not exist in the world of academia, where AI is put to much use. This presentation focuses on the application of AI in a business context, and it presents an approach to the evaluation of its viability; i.e., from natural language processing to a computer vision.

A Q/A session at the end of the presentation will provide an opportunity for the audience to receive answers to their questions from the presenters.
